What Is Beauty?
Is beauty having a pretty smile that shines out and can be seen for miles? Is beauty having a lovely face that everyone loves to see?
Is beauty having a lovely voice that makes the birds jealous when you sing? Is beauty having a body that made the fallen angels fall?
Is beauty having silken hair that makes jealous and hardheaded girl’s skins to crawl? Is beauty having golden, brown, or whatever kind of soft skin that tempts the holiest of men to sin?
Is beauty having eyes so beautiful and so deep that they stare into the soul of a man so empty and pitiful? Is beauty only the outside of a person? What about within?
Isn’t beauty the ability to show tenderness to someone who is not kind to you? Isn’t beauty the ability to show forgiveness to someone who hurts you?
Isn’t beauty the ability to put a smile on the face of a friend who is feeling down and low? Isn’t beauty the gift of having feelings, emotions of joy and sadness, and loving everyone you know?
Isn’t beauty the ability to cry with a child who is hurt and is all alone? Isn’t real beauty the gift of showing love? From a heart of gold and not a soul that has become empty like a dry and hollow stone.
For beauty is in the eyes of the beholder, but can anyone really see? There is such beauty that God has put on the inside of everyone, including you and me.
