Knowledge to a Youngen By Darvin Minus

Please Enjoy this week's New Poem by Darvin Minus a budding Bahamian Poet

Am blatantly disrespecting
The whole that berth your soul by simply ejecting
All this built up protein
That can make happen my mussel man dreams.

Surreal reality
Ironic quotes of a harsh brutality
Sit and settle
All the thoughts that were lost to a keen mind.

I’ll be quite fine
Im’a make these words cook
And these thoughts sizzle
So you can drink my mind
And let my words chisel this poem.

Poetical active
Inactively ill
My mind is of intelligence
Because that THC makes it for real
Knowledge to a youngen.

MY BAHAMAS

Beautiful Gem of the Sea
Although sometimes you fall and bruise your knee
Yet their is still such a beautiful sparkle in your eye
As clear and undeniable as the blue of your golden
Sun filled sky

My Bahamas part of my heart and soul

How you first crept, then stood then walked so briskly and free
Yet along the way you have fallen and stood again
As you grew
A new sapling of a tree
Many would pillage your shores, but still you shone out
beautiful even more

My Bahamas God's gift that will be restored

Crime, violence, injustice and so much darkness
Like sooth will try to blemish
You my beautiful pearl,
Yet with head held high,
The manner of your bearing is marked by the world

My Bahamas bearer of each boy and girl of the soil

Who can truly know how deep your roots go
Which grow from the belly of the sea,
And bear children of every hew, fruit and love
Unique in the storehouse of her natural beauty
Smiled upon even after the storm, with the rainbow of God's Love

My Bahamas beautiful and free

Upon your age of initiation, like the rings of the the tree

Forty you have achieved, creeping, crawling, walking, falling
yet still growing with a future bright for those who can see
No one knows what your end will be,
But I love you my beautiful Bahamas
With all your blemishes

My Bahamas beautiful gem, Blessed by our Creator
The Only home for Me.

OUR HOPE

The sounds of the drums  echo in my head , my heart From their first strains  I knew it was time to play my part To be carried away for a moment, amiss,
As they stirred a passion, afire like a lover’s tender kiss

In my heart I know

Even as the ocean, with her beautiful   aquamarine waters, kiss our shores as she ebbs and flows, Our Hope
It’s not the beaches that run for miles,

With beautiful colors that parade in varied styles

Or even the Golden sun like a god in the sky,

Smiling down, filling us with its precious essence from its abode up high, Our Hope
The tender hand that holds onto mine,

The smile that breaks your heart when you hear a cry, the genuine love that shines in their eyes, Our Hope

The gentile plants that look to be watered with love, Gifts and Blessings given by God above,
None can ever replace them for they are the only ones, Beautiful Bahama  Land, Paradise of Sun, Sand  and Sea Our Hope , our future, lies in the hands  of these,

Our children, more precious than the rarest gems, found in our wonderful seas
